Pure Class A Zenquito

Message » 01 Fév 2009 4:00

Hello,

I wasn't sure where to post the question but here goes. Does the Zenquito 15w Class A shift to AB at approx. 3 watts ? If it does, can the amplifier be adjusted to output only 3 watts Class A so it's pure ?

Thanks.

Hello

The ratio class A / class B, and the power limit for the change, depends on the amount of bias current in the output mosfets.
You can adjust as you like.
The 15w class a is class A at 15W

examples :

with 0.7A by push pull, for a two push pull, you have 30w pure class A (1.4A total bias for a chanel)
with 0.5A by push pull, for a two push pull, you have 16w pure class A
with 0.4A by push pull, for a two push pull, you have 10w pure class A
with 0.22A by push pull, for a two push pull, you have 3w pure class A

Locking Class A

Message » 01 Fév 2009 10:00

Hi Philby,

I might try 260mA to get 4 watts Class A. How can I avoid having the system leave Class A ? Reduce voltage of the preamp ?

Thanks.

Hello,

I just confirmed that the bias is 415 mA. It would be fun if the amp is full Class A even with just a few watts.
