Tha Camera Hunter : grosse arnaque ???

Message » 23 Jan 2007 13:07

"T T , July 21, 2004; 09:55 A.M.
I placed an order online 2 weeks ago. My credit card was charged. I never received the items. I emailed twice, called twice, no response. I will never purchase anything from them again.

I trust you realize that you should write a letter to your credit-card company saying that you were charged for merchandise that was never delivered. You should not have to pay that bill.

I think the reason for problems is the small nature of the business, I have placed two orders which were processed, one with no problems, the other with a few problems but eventually resolved.

Similar experience for me, he charge my credit card, and never send anything. Doesn't return email. I file a claim with my bank and I think I am going to get my money back. But what a waste of time. This guy is a con artist. Don't use him, there are other place like "www.camerafilters.com" or "Adorama" in NYC that sell what he sell.

Much the same experience as those who have already commented. Placed an online order for an out of stock item in August, 2006. Patiently waited for it. Then in the last couple months I started checking to see if it would be coming. I never received any reply to repeated emails and voice messages to Mr. Wombacher. The item disappeared from the website since. I have just placed a dispute on the charge today. Can add a warning to avoid ordering from thecamerahunter.com...

Do not use this guy. He does not send the send the items ordered. I ordered several items on 1/12/07 which he immediately billed by credit card and emailed me that the items were sent that day. Twelve days later no items but he got payment. I believe that he is running a scam on the net and some how we should distribute this to all members."

"Dispute about Order # 3134
------------------------------------------------
Dear Mr Wombacher,

Since i don't have any response to my e-mail (6 e-mails) and phone messages (2 phone messages), and with the fact that 30 days are now passed since i've done my order #3134 (Two Hoya filters : a 77mm Enhancing 81C, HMC Coated and a 67mm UV, HMC Coated), i've started today a disputed with my bank (La Banque Postale) against you : the 24th of january 2007. I've also contacted the SOCIETE DE PREVOYANCE BANCAIRE (S.P.B.) for that. So, don't be surprised, your Bank will probably contact you in the next few days about this situation.

Furthermore, i'm going to contact today VISA/MASTERCARD about this situation, and about The Camera Hunter : i'm considering like pure and simple fraud !

Feel free to contact me for further informations,
Best regards,"

" David J Wombacher

========= GENERAL INFORMATION =========

Merchant : The camera hunter
Date/Time : 24-Jan-2007 09:50:44 AM

========= ORDER INFORMATION =========
Invoice : 3134
Description : Refund backordered taking to long customer canceled order.
Amount : 73.90 (USD)
Payment Method : Visa"

"Dear Mr Wombacher,

Thanks for your reply : i appreciate that !
I've noticed that you purpose a refund about my order. That's a great news, but anyway, i'll not stop the procedure engaged until i've indeed received money on my account. It usually take 2 or 3 days. Can you confirm me that the refund as been done today ?
This information will help to stop the procedure, in the appropriate time !

Best regards,"

Oui, j'ai vu LOL !!! :mdr:

- Internet Crime Complaint Center (http://www.ic3.gov/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
- Federal Trade Commission (http://www.ftc.gov/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
- US Postal Mail Fraud Complaint Form (http://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/fraud/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
- Consumer Affairs Washington State
- EConsumer.gov (http://www.econsumer.gov/english/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Stay Tuned !
