Alright, so I have turned them on not even an hour ago, and I have just gaffer-taped the lights. My impression so far is that I can notice extra "oomph" and deeper punch than the 305s by default (as well they should). When I first turned them on, I thought I still had my EQ on (I had EQd the 305s to compensate a bit for their roll-off), since they had plenty of bass by default. I can also notice a bit more detail/high extension/sharper treble, though still not harsh, at least with what I've tested so far.
I was a bit disappointed in their self-noise, though, since it was of a higher frequency than the 305s, though not higher in volume. But I am very close (less than a meter). If I move 2 meters away, I can still hear the noise with my right ear, if I turn my head to a specific orientation. My right ear is far more sensitive to such things vs my left, though.
I'm going to experiment with the toe-in to see if I can adjust them in such a way that I will be less bothered by the noise. It's still liveable, mind you, and I have already sold my 305s, which are probably being picked up this evening.
Their size is a bit hilarious, though, and the tweeters are currently below ear-level. I'll have to get some stands with better adjustments later.
