"Toshiba unveils new DLP rear projection range - including 62in model

Toshiba has just revealed that it’s going to launch a new range of three DLP rear projection TVs around September this year. The range will comprise 46in, 56in and 62in models (the 46WMT58, 56WMT58, 62WMT58), all of which will incorporate digital tuners and full HD Readiness (according to the EICTA standard) thanks to their native 1280x720p resolution and provision of TWO HDMI inputs. The DLP engine in each projector will be Texas Instruments’ brand new HD4 model, and they'll enjoy contrast ratios of 2000:1, 40W RMS stereo sound, and 600cd/m2 brightness. The only major difference between the models will be that the two bigger versions will feature a more slimline design.

Prices for these models can’t be certain given how far off their release dates are, but at the moment Toshiba is hoping to hit under £2k for the 46in version, £2.5k-£3k for the 56in model, and a very reasonable £3k for the 62in model."
