un retour US d'un comparo 55ST50 vs 64E8000
(à prendre avec des pincettes car c'est le 1er post du gars sur AVS Forum, ce qui ne veut pas dire que son retour n'est pas fiable...) :

I can't bear this fanboy-writing of tony anymore. He's either working for samsung or an absolute samsung-fanboy. I have no other explanation for his ps64e8000-praise.
I am proud to say that I own a Samsung PS64E8000 and a Panasonic P55ST50. I compared the tvs side by side and I can tell you one thing:
The ST50 absolutely wipes the floor with the E8000. PQ on E8000 is great for sure. But on ST50 the PQ is absolutely astonishing. I bought an E8000 because last years samsung plasmas were great and the colors were more accurate than panasonic plasmas (my opinion).
But this years Panasonic ST50 is vastly superior over Samsungs E8000. The Panasonic is a little brighter (but only a little), has far better color accuracy and marvellous black levels. Also 3D on the ST50 is a little more "even" but on 3D-Terms they are nearly on the same level.
Furthermore, and that's one of the biggest issues, the samsung has an absolutely horrible buzzing. I can hear the buzz from several feets away even in loud tv scenes. That's a a NO-GO. The ST50 is also buzzing, but you hear it only if you stand right behind the tv and listen closely when tv sound is turned off. If you sit right next in front of the tv four or five feet away you hear absolutely nothing even if the sound turned off.
Sorry but Samsungs Plasmas are inferior in every ascept this year except maybe the brightness. If the ST50 already wipes the floor with the E8000 I cannot imagine what the VT50 will do with the E8000. It's your decision what you buy. By no means the samsung is bad, but in comparison with the ST50 it's inferior. The Buzzing on the E8000 is a catastrophe.
