ICIOfficial Release: CalMAN 5.1.0 Build 1130, Released Thursday, February 21, 2013
Features
- Speed increase. CalMAN now starts faster.
- Workflow Load Speed. Workflows are faster, way faster.
- Multithreaded Calculation Engine. We use multiple cpu cores when we have to recalculate all target points (gamut changes, white max changes, gamma formula changes). Once again more speed.
- ColorComparator. This new tool helps users better understand dE. By giving them a visual aid users will be able to see relative amount of difference between their Display and the target color. You can take a look at this new graph in the Quick Analysis workflow.
- Datagrid Scale Size. You can now scale Datagrids to be larger or smaller.
- Sources are now easier to find, and we will persistently store your choices for that pattern generator.
- VirtualLUT/AutoCube. We’ve completely abstracted the hardware away from our 3D LUT Calibration. This means we can be much more flexible in setting up how we calibrate any device. The end result is a significant increase in speed and accuracy.
- Unified AutoCal Framework. With the work done for AutoCube, all AutoCal procedures should now be more reliable producing fast repeatable results.
- AutoCal Start Dialog. This feature prompts users for AutoCal Settings, this helps make AutoCal even easier to Use.
- Uniformity Tool. This allows us to measure and quantify uniformity of an nxn grid. We can run grayscale, gamut or colorchecker. You can view all the data in a datagrid or export the tab data to get all nxn of all the data.
- Added Pandora Pluto support as both a pattern generator as well as a cube device.
- Added support for the PR-740
- New keyboard shortcut command has been added to toggle a Text field into Edit when in Design Mode. This shortcut is CTRL-E.
- Compression has been added to workflows. This drastically decreases the file size of workflows and so reduces the size of the installer.
Resolved Issues
- Resolved issue where CalMAN would give the error "Unable to Save Workflow" when users try to save a workflow or save a data file.
- Negative and decimal numbers can now be added manually in the meter profile tool
- Changed the License dialog so that it will not prompt for a new key if you have more than 14 days left on an evaluation key. When prompted with an active temporary key, the wording has been changed to show that you are continuing with the temporary license and not as unlicensed.
- Pattern will be redisplayed when selected pattern on slider is reselected. Resolves issue of being unable to bring up a pattern if the slider bar only has one data point.
- Pass/Fail indicators now work properly in environments where the comma is used as a decimal
- CalMAN will no longer bring up pattern for every read when doing a continuous read, or if the same pattern has been brought up or read within 10 seconds
- Resolved issue on some machines when printing reports and layouts
Known Issues
- Mouse overs on graphs which have a target line (such as Gamma and Color temperature) are not currently working
- Pattern change prompts are not suppressed when doing continuous reads
- Some machines will experience issues trying to export a report to PDF. Currently a workaround is to use a PDF printer, such as PrimoPDF.
- Once in a while when entering a layout, the slider bar will default to a different run type than what is set for the layout. This is intermittent behavior and somewhat uncommon. Current workaround is to click on one of the graphs. This will reset the slider bar to the correct run type
- When a meter has a Units selection option, CalMAN does not display any notes that may be available for that meter
- Some users might see an error removing shortcut on upgrade or uninstall
- When saving a workflow over an existing uncompressed workflow, that workflow will save as uncompressed.
- CalMAN is not always able to change modes in the DDC controls with the JVC RS50. Work around is to select the desired display mode in the projector prior to connection.
- CalMAN will crash if you attempt to perform a cube calibration using a pattern generator that does not support RGB triplets CMS DDC reset does not always reset to proper native values
